Booking a slot enables residents to plan ahead to deposit their waste swiftly and easily. Many local authorities now operate a similar system, while others are actively considering implementing one based on the success in areas like Suffolk. Please arrive 5 minutes before your slot starts and separate materials before coming to site. If you book a slot and don’t attend, your booking will still be counted against your allowance.
This is a huge advantage for us, because we have now created transparency in raw materials delivery and in shipping. If you provide an email address, you will get a confirmation email every time you book, which will include your booking reference number and the number of slots you have used. If you need to cancel or rearrange your slot, please select the cancellation link found at the bottom of your booking confirmation email. Non-Kent residents will be required to pay £10 per visit from 1 April 2023 to use KCC Household Waste Recycling Centres. If you arrive too early or late to your appointment we are unable to guarantee entry. We now know in advance which vehicle is coming, at which time and for which destination.
Alternate time-slot length availability and booking is also possible. We are testing an entry gate which automatically opens when it detects the number plate of vehicles with valid bookings. Using this technology will allow staff to concentrate on operating the site instead of checking vehicles in at the gate. Cars, cars with small trailers, and car derived vans should unload within ten minutes if possible. Your booked 15 minute slot will allow for time to get in, parked and back out again. Sites are now back to 100% capacity, making it even easier to make a booking. If you’re waiting to book a time slot for your visit, please hold on to your waste until a slot becomes available or you could try booking at another nearby site which may have availability. If you’re unable to book a time slot online, please do not phone Customer Service to see if additional slots are available. The only time slots available will be shown on the public booking system. If you’re visiting the recycling centres by bike, or on foot at Hartcliffe Way recycling centre only, you do not need to book.
You can book up to two weeks in advance, or one hour before you visit, if slots are available. If you are visiting in a hire car, you will need to show a copy of your hire agreement when you visit. If you book online, you will also be reminded of how many slots you have used when you book.
Please cancel any booking that are no longer required, this will free up the slots for others to visit. With intelligent digital resource management, and centralized status information, you can optimize internal processes, increase handling capacity, and reduce loading and unloading times. Without proper planning, you risk overcrowded parking areas, increased accident risks, and additional costs for waiting times. Unfortunately, there has been an increase in fly tipping in Suffolk during the pandemic, as there have been in most parts of the country, whether or not they have a recycling centre booking system.
If you are visiting in a car, you will be able to book up to 4 visits per calendar month. If your vehicle needs a permit you will need to apply for a new permit before you can book a date and time to visit. Find out how you can recycle some of your household waste recycling products. Once booked, you will receive a reference number via email which you must use when visiting the centre. You will need to bring a debit or credit card with you to the Recycling Centre where a member of staff will help you pay.
The new booking system allows customers to book available slots in real time and easily amend or cancel bookings up to one hour beforehand. Business or trade customers/ vehicles are restricted to two appointments per 7 day period.We reserve the right to cancel any further bookings made in a 7 day period. You do not need to book if you’re only visiting the reuse shop at Avonmouth or Hartcliffe Way. The Reuse shops are open seven days a week from 9am to 4pm but vary depending on public holidays and operations. The system determines the required loading time based on the specifics and transport data of the shipment and available resources at the warehouse.
